The GDC has updated its guidance on scope of practice which will come into effect from 1 November 2025. The updates do not change any of the professions' scope - they remain as they are. The updates, however, brings greater clarity on existing bounderies of the seven dental professions and better allows dental professionals to exercise their professional judgement in the interest of patients. These online sessions will explain the changes that have been made and answer any questions dental professionals may have regarding the revised guidance.
There are four sessions to choose from:
- Dental nurses session - Monday 13 October 2025, 6pm-7:30pm
- Dental hygienists, dental therapists, and orthodontic therapists session - Thursday 16 October 2025, 6pm-7:30pm
- Clinical dental technicians and dental technicians session - Tuesday 21 October 2025, 6pm-7:30pm
- Dentists session - Thursday 23 October 2025, 6pm-7:30pm
