Understanding the user perspective: A DE-UK dialogue

About this event

20 May 2022, 09.00-10:30 BST / 10:00-11:30 CEST

Moderated by Ewald Brahms (University Hildesheim/VDB) and William Nixon (University of Glasgow/RLUK)

This collaborative event between Research Libraries UK and VDB will explore the ‘user perspective’. As the digital shift continues and accelerates, including in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, research and academic libraries have continued to innovate and develop pioneering services in response to their changing users’ needs. Including speakers from the UK and German library communities, this seminar will consider the ways in which research and academic libraries are capturing and understanding the changing perspective and needs of their users, and the innovative services and resources being created as a result.

Speakers include:

  • Antony Groves, Learning & Teaching Librarian, University of Sussex Library
  • Guy Baxter, Associate Director - Archive Services. University Museums and Special Collections, University of Reading.
  • Ninon Frank, Subject Specialist and Head of Public Relations, Stiftung Universität Hildesheim
  • Erik Senst, Teaching Librarian and Head of Information Services, Leuphana Universität Lüneburg

This is the fourth collaborative event between the German Librarians Association (VDB) and Research Libraries UK, as part of RLUK’s Digital Shift Forum. Recordings of previous events can be viewed at: www.rluk.ac.uk/dsf-on-demand.
