About this event
Standing in the Gap is an early intervention mental health charity helping pre-school and primary aged children manage the big emotions of fear, anxiety, anger and grief.
Our mission is to build emotional well-being in children by providing tools and support to children, families and professionals.
We know that starting school is a huge event for children and parents and we want to share some practical skills and tips to make this transition as smooth as possible.
This is the 4th year we have run this series of talks and 100% of parents would recommend them to another parent.
The Understanding your 4 year old and getting them ready for starting school is a popular session for parents. The talk looks at:
* What is normal emotional and physical development for your child at this age?
*What makes them all different?
*What can you do to help prepare them for school?
* Managing separation anxiety- looking at what helps and what doesn't help.
The talk is supported by a resource pack which is available from our online shop www.sitgap.org/shop . If you would like multiple packs or international shipping please email us on sales@sitgap.org to arrange a quote.
The session will be live on zoom, please book 1 ticket per family and we will email you all the links and information in preparation for the session you are booked onto.
All our talks are offered free of charge as we feel parents should be able to get information and help irrespective of their financial status. However we do ask, if you are able, to make a donation of £5 per participant to enable us to continue to offer these great supportive talks. https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/11701#!/DonationDetails
