Event description

Description

What does this workshop involve?

Clinical Child Psychologists from Clinical Psycgologists @ Nurture provide a two-part workshop to give parents/carers an understanding of the brain and how it development is important for how we help children and young people manage emotions.

This workshop is aimed at parents of children under 10 years of age, who become easily overwhelmed with emotions, and often scream, shout, tantrum and ‘lash out’ verbally. It is also useful for parents who are looking to know what to do to prevent their children feeling emotionally overwhelmed in the future.

The first session parents will be told about activities to practice at home with your child and handouts will be provided. Session 2 will be used to talk about how these activities helped and/or, iron out any difficulties you might have had putting them into place, as well as introducing new strategies.

The dates for this 2 part workshop are:

Part 1 - 10th September 2019

Part 2 - 15th October 2019

Time: 10:00-11:30am

Selecting a ticket for this workshop confirms your space on both part 1 and 2.

*Please note: These workshops are funded by NHS Heywood, Middleton & Rochdale CCG and therefore they are only intended for PARENTS living in these areas.

We have self-funded workshops available to parents and professionals who live outside of these areas, held in Bury.
