This launch will focus on the 2016 Report, the first in a new series of reports entitled the Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Reports.
This report, concentrating on ‘Education for people and planet: Creating sustainable futures for all’, established a new monitoring foundation for education and, thereby, the state of education in the new framework of the Sustainable Development Goals. This report also examines key financing and governance challenges for the post-2015 era, as well as the reciprocal links between education and major aspects of the post-2015 development agenda. It presents an account of how the role of education can contribute to the sustainable development agenda.
