Week 2. Dyrham Park Reworked with Piers Horry

Nestled in the entrance to the Cotswolds, the architectural tour de force of Dyrham Park never fails to strike awe in any visitor who gazes down from the sweeping deer park valley. Dyrham gardens were created by the government and colonial administrator William Blatwayt in the late 17th century in the Dutch baroque style, as favoured by the court of William and Mary. Leading designers of the time created a garden of trained fruits, citrus’, topiary, perfect hedging, cascades and fountains. Today, the gardens represent the 17th century design with a flair for the 21st century. Tonight, Piers Horry, Dyrham's Garden and Outdoor Manager, will give us a ‘behind the screen’ online tour of this unforgettable garden.

Piers Horry is the Garden and Outdoor Manager for National Trust at Dyrham Park. He has been a gardener in the National Trust for over 10 years, managing historic gardens at Hughenden Manor, Hatchlands & Clandon Park.
