"Unhusked" is a collaborative storytelling session with Dr Debanjali Biswas. It uses dance, movement and film clips to tell the powerful stories of Dalit Partition refugees. The performance follows their journey of displacement and rebuilding. It explores themes of resilience, memory and belonging. It reflects on the impact of forced migration. Oral histories lay out a range of diaspora experiences. The language of the body evokes emotions and reflects cultural landscapes. This session delves into the ways people find a sense of home in a new land. Designed for those drawn to oral histories, socially engaged storytelling, dance or theatre. Be moved. Be transported.

About the artist: Dr. Hiya Deb is a filmmaker and researcher at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her work explores Dalit refugee narratives. She focuses on transgenerational trauma, gender and diaspora. Literature and storytelling come together as part of her research.
