Event description

Description

The majority of voluntary organisations in Scotland are unincorporated associations but, quite often, the people involved in running them can misunderstand what this status means and the potential for those involved to become personally liable for the debts and obligations of the association. Sometimes, this can have serious financial implications for those involved.

Presented by Lauren Scott and Paul Geoghegan, this free seminar will summarise the legal status of unincorporated associations, including the advantages and disadvantages which that status brings and proposals for reform as well as discussing ways to seek to limit the liability of trustees and members.
