Following the very entertaining and much talked about event with John Suchet two years ago, we are thrilled that Anne Sebba will be interviewing the renowned literary couple, Claire Tomalin and Michael Frayn set to a backdrop of some of their favourite music.

Claire Tomalin is an English author and journalist, known for her biographies on Charles Dickens, Thomas Hardy, Samuel Pepys, Jane Austen, and Mary Wollstonecraft. In 2017 she published her autobiography, “A life of her own” to much critical acclaim.

Michael Frayn, is an award winning novelist and playwright. He is best known as the author of the farce Noises Off and the dramas Copenhagen and Democracy. His novels, such as Towards the End of the Morning, Headlong and Spies, have also been critical and commercial successes.

The couple will be interviewed by Anne Sebba, writer, journalist and lecturer. Anne has written nine books – the most recent Les Parisiennes, which explores what it felt like to be a woman living in Paris between 1939 – 1949.

This is a fundraising event for Relate London SW. The demand for Relate services continues to grow and your support is vital to ensure we reach many more families and young people; and to support the costs of counselling for couples experiencing financial hardship. It helps to sustain one of our guiding principles that nobody should be denied counselling because they can’t afford it. Every penny we raise fuels our Payment Assistance Scheme which last year provided more than £41,000 to support clients on a low income. The demands on the scheme continue to grow while our funding is shrinking.

This is a great opportunity to treat your mother on Mother’s Day and share the occasion with friends and family – all are welcome. We can guarantee this will be a special and fascinating afternoon. As a charity that supports relationships we feel it is particularly appropriate to be hearing from such a well-known couple.

If you are unable to join us, please consider a donation instead, so that we can continue to develop our services which are much in demand.
