Unit Live: Design + Music
After the success of the first Unit Live! event, we’re back with event number two: Unit Live: Design + Music is a celebration of the marriage between design and music. It’s a relationship with an awe-inspiring history, and despite the arrival of online music, it’s still a surprisingly strong union.
To discuss the past and present (and maybe even a glimpse into the future) of design and music, we’ve put together a stellar line-up of speakers:
Vaughan Oliver in conversation with Adrian Shaughnessy
The legendary Vaughan Oliver (4AD/Pixies/David Lynch) rarely does public speaking, but when he does, he’s witty, insightful and downright inspirational.
The Punk/post-Punk Panel:
A panel of Punk and post-Punk luminaries - Russ Bestley (Punk scholar), Malcolm Garrett (Buzzcocks), Mark Perry (Sniffin Glue/Alternative TV) and Tony Brook (Spin/Unit Editions) – discuss the design and music eruption of the late 70s, and early 80s. They should know, they were all there … and they really do remember.
Kate Moross in conversation:
Kate Moross has joined the line-up for Unit Live! She will be talking about her work as an award-winning graphic designer, art director, director and illustrator.
Kate set up Studio Moross to focus on branding and art direction, and to provide clients with a unique approach to music-based visuals. “We offer our music clients a 360 degree service,” says Kate, "whether it’s the album campaign, the merch items, music videos, visualisers, live show design, or TV commercials."
