We’re celebrating ten years of independent publishing with a Unit Live! event at the Royal Geographical Society, in London.

As with previous Unit Live! events, we have a stellar cast lined up. We hope you will join us for talks, book signings and a special first screening of a new short film by Universal Everything.


Here’s the line up:

6.00pm Doors open/bar open

7.00pm Alexandra Sankova from the Moscow Design Museum discusses her book, VNIITE: Discovering Utopia – Lost Archives of Soviet Design

7.30pm Mark Sinclair introduces the forthcoming Unit Editions title, Ads (Advertising for graphic designers by graphic designers, 1955—75)

Our new book features the work of Paul Rand, Karl Gerstner, Herb Lubalin, Rosmarie Tissi, Herbert Matter, Franco Grignani, Ruth Ansel, Massimo Vignelli, Wolfgang Weingart and many others.

8.00pm Interval

8.15pm Unit Editions/10

Tony Brook, Adrian Shaughnessy and Patricia Finegan discuss what it means to survive for ten years of independent publishing when everyone told us the book was dead.

8.45pm Universal Everything – a film premiere

To launch the publication of a book devoted to the work of Universal Everything, creative director Matt Pyke and his team have prepared a short film specially made for this event. This ‘premiere’ will be preceded by a screening of Universal Everything’s ‘greatest hits’.

9.00pm Book signing

Matt Pyke, Alexandra Sankova and the Unit Editions team will be on hand to sign books. Books will be on sale at a spectacular discounts to celebrate ten years of Unit Editions.
