UNIT Live! Typography Night

The fourth in our series of live events takes place on 6 December 2017, at the Royal Geographical Society, in London. It’s an evening devoted to typography and books.


SPIN/Adventures in Typography (002)
In an innovative audio/visual presentation, Tony Brook, Claudia Klat and Jonathan Nielsen describe the process of creating the second in a series of experimental typographic journals.

Andreas Uebele
Andreas Uebele is a great speaker. Hear him talk about the making of his book andreas uebele material and his views on contemporary typographic expression.

Letraset
Adrian Shaughnessy tells the story of Letraset, how a simple rubdown lettering system democratised typography and how Letraset typefaces changed the look of 1970s Britain.

Octavo Redux
For the first time on stage, the three founding members of 8vo (Hamish Muir, Mark Holt and Simon Johnston), discuss the making of the influencial journal Octavo and the book that celebrates it, Octavo Redux.

Book Signings
Books will be on sale on the night, and authors and designers will be on hand to sign copies.
