Event description

Description

How can university applicants give themselves the best chance in the UCAS process? What do universities *really* look for from their applicants? What do all those complex entrance requirements actually mean - and what are "contextual admissions"? How can you best advise each and every pupil that you support? And what should you include in a UCAS reference?

This teachers' CPD session - provided by the Widening Participation team at the University of Edinburgh - will answer these questions (and more!) providing teachers and advisers with key advice and guidance for all aspects of the UCAS process. We will also provide you with expert advice about university admissions - including the newly revised contextual admissions policy - for the University of Edinburgh itself.

Whether you are new to the UCAS process, or an experienced practitioner, you are welcome to attend completely free of charge. There are no restrictions on the number of staff from each school who can attend - although each staff member needs to register separately, please!

Lunch will be provided (from 1.15pm) with the session starting at 2pm.

We look forward to welcoming you to the University of Edinburgh!
