University of Cambridge: - Veterinary Medicine July Open Day 2017

The annual University open days are held every July. We will be running tours of the Veterinary Department at the West Cambridge site on Madingley Road for potential students only at the following times:
9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm, 2.30pm.
Potential Students: There will be a talk for prospective students at 12:30pm and 3.30pm at the Veterinary Department. The talk will include a description of the six years of the course leading to the award of the BA & VetMB degrees. Information about the application process and work experience will be provided and there will be a discussion of student finances and general support. This session will last around 60 minutes and will include time for questions.
Parents: There will be talks for parents/guardians at 10am and 3pm on the Open Days. Spaces will be limited to 2 people per family. This talk will provide an overview of the veterinary course at Cambridge, including an introduction to the facilities in the Department of Veterinary Medicine.
We will also cover the basics of the requirements for the course and the application process. There will be a discussion of the financial implications and what financial support is available through the University and colleges. It will also provide an overview of the outstanding pastoral support provided to our students that makes studying Veterinary Medicine at Cambridge a unique and rewarding experience. The session will last around 60 minutes and will include time for questions.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
You do not need to bring ID with you.
You must be 16 years old to tour our department.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
All of the above is taking place at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Madingely Road, Cambridge CB3 0ES on the University’s West Cambridge site. Please note that you must book in advance to be able to attend.
Registration for all tours and talks will take place in our Student Facilities building, which is on the right hand side when you are facing the department.
Please be aware that we only have a very small amount of visitor car parking, which will be given on a first come - first served basis. We recommend that you use the park and ride site on Madingley Road if you come by car (see link below)
There are no catering facilities at the Department but there are cafes on the West Cambridge site - see http://www.unicen.cam.ac.uk/food-and-drink/places-eat/out-university-centre/west-cafe and http://www.unicen.cam.ac.uk/food-and-drink/places-eat/out-university-centre/computer-laboratory-cafe for the nearest cafes to the Department.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
