Description

Learning out loud
Inaugural lecture, Professor Laura Ritchie, Professor of Learning and Teaching in Music

6.00pm on Friday 18 October in the Chapel of the Ascension, University of Chichester, Bishop Otter Campus Chichester

In this Inaugural Lecture, Laura Ritchie immerses the audience into the practice of learning. Over the past decade, she has developed curricula and unique ways of engaging students as partners. This evening, Laura explains the premise of her teaching, supported by her research in self-efficacy, and how this has led to the development of a community of practice. Laura encourages us to adopt a new perspective for our own learning and how we interact as teachers and practitioners in our respective fields. The lecture element will last approximately 40 minutes and following a short interval Laura will conclude with a performance of the Kodaly Sonata for Solo Cello which lasts 30 minutes.

Refreshments will be available from 5.30pm.

Car parking on campus is free of charge after 5.00pm.

This event is free of charge to attend but we do ask you to kindly RSVP to indicate your attendance.

Details of lectures are given as correct at the time of the publication but events are subject to alteration or cancellation.
