University of Hull Media Alumni Day

If you are interested in pursuing a career in Journalism, Radio, or Film & TV, then be sure to join us for the University of Hull's Media Alumni Day.
We're delighted to be able to welcome back an impressive group of alumni contributors who have gone on to forge succesful careers in the Media after completing their studies in Hull. They will be contributing to a day of talks, workshops and networking, so come along and take advantage of their experience, expertise and insights and find out what a career in the media really means.
Join us at 10.00 in the Wilberforce Concourse for refreshments before the event begins.
There will be a series of short talks from 10.30 until 12.00 in Wilberforce Lecture Theatre 1.
We will return to the Concourse for a Networking lunch until 13.00.
After lunch, guests will have a choice of workshops to attend.
The event will end at 14.00.
Starting as a tea-maker and runner, Daniel is now an Executvie Produce and over the next two years will be supervising nearly £100million worth of production in the UK, including the BBC’s forthcoming adaptation of Philip Pullman’s ‘His Dark Materials Trilogy’.
Sam first went into journalism at the Hull Daily Mail where she became Senior Sub-Editor. Later she became Editor of ‘H&E Naturist’, a magazine originally established in 1900. She now runs her own company, Hawk Editorial Ltd, which took over the publishing of H&E in October 2012.
Andrew is a Creative Producer who won the Mike Frankovich Columbia Tristar Scholarship to study at the National Film and Television School. He has worked on several long-running dramas including Holby City and Coronation Street, and is currently developing a slate of projects for film, television and games.
Lucy started as a Broadcast Assistant at LBC Radio and is now a Freelance Presenter and Journalist working primarily for Classic FM and BFBS. She has been an Arts Correspondent, a Newsreader, has broadcast live from Chicago during the US Presidential election, and project-managed Global's news coverage of the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant. She has recently interviewed Andrea Bocelli and Alice Cooper.
Yasmin is a final year Law student and journalist who has published in the Guardian and the Independent. She recently signed a continuing contract with the BBC, and will be taking up a post there after taking a year out to read Public Policy at Oxford University.
