Public Policy|Southampton (PPS) is the University of Southampton unit dedicated to creating policy impact by connecting researchers, students and policymakers through fellowship programmes, capacity building and engagement activities to better support evidence-informed policymaking.

For PPS first annual lecture we have invited Professor Dame Angela McLean, Government Chief Scientific Adviser, to discuss the current processes and future possibilities to collaborate with Government and inform evidence-based policy. The topics Professor Dame Angela McLean will discuss are:

- the role of GCSA and science advice in the policy making

- climate adaptation

- emerging AI technologies in health care

The session will include a talk from Professor Dame Angela McLean, and a Q&A session, and will be introduced by Professor Mark Spearing, University of Southampton Vice-President (Research & Enterprise)

At 5:00 we will serve some light refreshments outside the lecture theatre.
