University Options Day in Science, Maths and Engineering: 26th June 2019

  • Find out about studying Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Engineering at university
  • Taster lectures
  • Hands on demonstrations
  • Talks with our current students
  • Meet recent graduates and employers and find out about careers in Science and Engineering
  • Separate optional programme for accompanying parents/guardians

The days starts at 10.30am with a welcome talk, please arrive from 10.15am. When you arrive please have your printed ticket(s) or e-ticket(s) on your smartphone ready so that we can sign you in quickly. You'll get a programme for the day and light refreshments will be available from 10.15am after you sign in.

There will be a separate programme each for students and any accompanying parents/guardians. A free lunch will be provided for both students and parents/guardians.

The day will finish for 3.30pm and light refreshments will be provided before you depart.

Visitors are encouraged to use public transport to reach the University, please view general travel information to the University.

Access Travel Bursary

A travel bursary is available to support attendees living in government-identified postcode areas that typically have low participation rates Higher Education (POLAR3 quintile 1). Check to see if you live in a POLAR3 quintile 1 area. Check your postcode
 
How do I claim the Access Travel Bursary?
  1. Check to see if you live in a POLAR3 quintile 1 area. Check your postcode
  2. Download and complete the Self-Declaration Form – you need to confirm that you are in a POLAR3 quintile 1 postcode area
  3. Download and complete the Expenses Claim Form – remember to ask for a receipt when you purchase tickets, you will need this to make your claim. Unless you travel by car in which case you can claim 40p per mile for your round trip from home to the University and back.
  4. Claims should be made by either:
    • handing in your Self-Declaration Form and Expenses Claim Form plus relevant travel receipts at the Central Exhibition on the day of the event. Or,
    • posting completed forms, evidence and all receipts to: Faculty Student REcruitment Team,  Modular Village Room C07, North Campus, Broad Lane, Sheffield, S3 7HQ. You may want to obtain proof of posting if you do this.
  5. Please note that the refund will be paid directly into your bank account approximately 5 to 6 weeks after we have received your completed claim forms.
