Join Guy (@Gwilliamillustrator) and level up your sketchbook practice with his patented secrets of purposeful practice.

We’ll be exploring how to get the very best out of your sketching using simple and scalable exercises designed to help you level up your art skills through sketchbook practice. Nothing kills the progression of, and most of al,l enjoy the process. Make friends with your sketchbook as we explore how to enjoy the journey and still get results.

Delivered in Guy’s inimitable style and aided by the delivery of tea and biscuits, this is the ideal way to kickstart your sketching, dig yourself out of that artistic rut and secure new skills.

About the Artist

G William is a freelance illustrator and qualified teacher. Born in the heart of West Yorkshire,

He works in a variety of styles and mediums while specialising in illustrating children’s books and describing himself as a ‘cut-price Quentin Blake’.

Looking at his work, this may not actually be true as it clearly reflects an unhealthy obsession with comics and fantasy art, alongside Mr Blake’s loose line work. Working both traditionally and digitally, his work reflects a very graphic style with strong linework and a disdain for straight lines. Though specialising in Children’s illustration, he has completed a number of projects ranging from storyboarding and comics to graphics and logos, but is never happier than when he’s doodling in ink and letting his imagination go wild. Working alongside Calder Graphics, he hosts the monthly art event Pen and a Pint and, in his ‘spare time’, runs a martial arts club.
