Event description

Description

This day will be led by Dr Rowan Williams, Master of Magdalene College, Cambridge and a theologian, writer and poet. It is one of the ongoing Diocesan prayer and spirituality initiatives aiming to encourage the priority of prayerfulness at the heart of all we do.

Dr Rowan Williams writes "I will be looking at the lives and writings of three twentieth century women - Maria Skobtsova, Dorothy Day and madeleine Delbrel, all of whom rather broke the mould of contemplative life by living a vocation to intense prayer in very stressful and active environments. How does their teaching help us imagine a life of immersion in God when we are constantly pressured to perform/suceed/comply?"
