Event description

Description

Join us for a creative, collaborative making day with libraries open data. We're looking for librarians, library users, designers, students, policy makers, researchers, data people, developers, community groups, activists, parish/town councils and anyone else with an interest in the changing role of libraries to help us prototype new services, products and projects with open data.

The Prototyping Day forms part of a two year Unlimited Value project to better understand the current and future impact of libraries; early in 2017 we ran a Discovery Day to uncover new data and this second, public event will build on what we found. You won't need any technical expertise, just a passion for libraries and their potential.

Open data is data that anyone can access, use or share. The Open Data Institute has a good explanation of what open data is, how it can be used and the benefits it can bring.

The Unlimited Value Project is a partnership between Libraries Unlimited, University of Exeter Business School, RIO and ODI Devon. It's supported by Arts Council England.
