Event description
‘Unlock London’ with Sustrans. A webinar for those individuals hoping to explore the city in a safe way throughout the summer.

About this event

People are increasingly recognising the benefits of active travel in staying both physically and mentally healthy. In cities, active travel has been embraced by transport agencies and employers alike, as a way of supporting workforces to live healthy lifestyles, improve wellbeing and boost workplace productivity.

With a focus on how to unlock London through active travel, this webinar will help attendees understand the benefits of walking and wheeling. The discussion will touch on route planning, services available to help get you on a cycle and things to consider if you are looking to incorporate active travel in to your lifestyle.

Speakers confirmed:

Jeremy Tranter (Sustrans Behaviour Change Officer) will talk about the practical steps people can take to feel safer and more confident when cycling in London.

Sarah Berry (Campaigner for joyful travel, car(e)free journeys and streets that are bursting with life.)

Fiona Blackley (Head of Networks and Neighbourhoods at Sustrans London) will discuss routes in and around the area.

Vieve (Joyriders cycle group)

Sustrans works in partnership, bringing people together to find the right solutions. We make the case for walking and cycling by using robust evidence and showing what can be done. We are grounded in communities and believe that grassroots support combined with political leadership drives real change, fast.
