Unlocked Futures is a youth-led community event created through the Lead and Be Led programme, challenging the pressure on young people to follow one fixed path to success.
Many young people feel like their futures are “locked in”, expected to choose a career, go to university, and have it all figured out by 18. Unlocked Futures is here to change that narrative. It’s a space to explore different journeys, celebrate creativity, and embrace the idea that there’s more than one way to succeed.
The event will feature:
- 🎤 Live interviews with individuals who’ve taken unique career and education routes
- ✍🏽 Poetry performances expressing real thoughts, hopes, and fears about the future
- 📖 A published poetry book showcasing youth voices
- 🎬 A short documentary capturing the making of the campaign
- 🌐 Interactive moments, prize giving, and networking opportunities for young people
