Unlocking creative drawing skills in pupils at keystage 2

for teachers of keystage 2 upwards

These two 90 - minute online sessions will support teachers in how they approach working with young people to develop creative risk taking through drawing skills. Participants will be supported to develop their own confidence in mark making and will be empowered to encourage the acceptance of 'mistakes' as part of the creative process. The sessions will use a blended learning approach with live video clips, powerpoint presentations as well as some practical tasks. The sessions will encourage participants to consider ways to invite their students to make connections and take ownership of sharing knowledge and learning. The sessions will have space for reflection and discussion.

4 & 11 February 2021

3.30pm - 5.00pm

The sessions follow on from each other so teachers need to attend both. There will be a practice task set in – between the sessions.

Session One will focus on what are drawing skills and ways to use them? Session Two will focus on how to use drawing skills to develop creative risk taking and thinking?

Bydd y ddwy sesiwn ar-lein 90 munud o hyd yma yn cefnogi athrawon yn y ffordd maen nhw'n gweithio gyda phobl ifanc i ddatblygu sgiliau cymryd risgiau creadigol drwy sgiliau arlunio. Bydd y cyfranogwyr yn cael eu cefnogi i ddatblygu eu hyder wrth greu marciau, a byddan nhw'n cael eu grymuso i dderbyn 'camgymeriadau' fel rhan o'r broses greadigol. Bydd y sesiynau'n defnyddio dull dysgu cyfunol, gyda chlipiau fideo byw, cyflwyniadau PowerPoint, ynghyd â thasgau ymarferol. Bydd y sesiynau'n annog y cyfranogwyr i ystyried ffyrdd o wahodd eu disgyblion i wneud cysylltiadau ac i berchnogi rhannu gwybodaeth a dysgu. Bydd gan y sesiynau ofod i fyfyrio a thrafod.

Bydd Sesiwn Un yn canolbwyntio ar ofyn beth yw sgiliau arlunio a sut mae eu defnyddio.

Bydd Sesiwn Dau yn canolbwyntio ar sut mae defnyddio sgiliau arlunio i ddatblygu cymryd risgiau a meddwl creadigol.

Bydd dolen Zoom yn cael ei rhannu â phawb sydd wedi cofrestru ar y cwrs yn nes at y dyddiad.

Expressive Arts Professional Learning Programme Spring 2021

The Central South consortium is working with the A2Connect project to deliver an exciting and varied programme of Professional Learning for teachers led by practising artists and creative practitioners. These are designed to inspire teachers at all levels; to nurture confidence, skills, and to support the development of new approaches to teaching expressive arts in line with the Curriculum for Wales framework.
