Event Details

Business growth through retaining; retraining and recruiting people aged 50+

This event will be of interest to CIPD members and other HR Professionals to learn and discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with an older workforce in our region.

This event is being delivered by CIPD North East of England in partnership with the North East Local Enterprise Partnership.

Keynote speaker: Alistair McQueen, Head of Savings and Retirement at Aviva. Aviva’s UK Chief Executive, Andy Briggs, is the Government’s “independent business champion for older workers”.

Aviva is the UK’s leading provider of private pensions, helping over 4 million people save for their future.

Aviva is committed to supporting the goal of a fuller working life. Aviva has 15,000 UK employees in the UK, of whom about one-in-five are over the age of 50. UK Chief Executive, Andy Briggs, has challenged businesses to employ one million more people over the age of 50 by 2022.

Alistair carries two professional goals. One is to help all people thrive, not just survive, in later life. His other is to make pensions sexy. His work is ongoing.
