As part of the North Ayrshire Mental Health Arts Festival, unpaid carers are invited to take part in a powerful new art project exploring the emotional and mental health impacts of caring. This programme, led by artists Michelle Winslow and Tragic O’Hara, blends natural materials and contemporary art to help participants tell their stories through visual expression. The project is about: Giving unpaid carers a voice through art Building confidence, community, and creative skills Reflecting on mental health in a safe, supportive space Raising public awareness of what it means to care The programme will culminate in a public exhibition at HAC’s Large Studio from late October to early November. No prior art experience is required—just a willingness to share, create, and connect.
