A nature connection journey amongst trees at Dapdune Wharf - mindfulness in nature for relaxation and wellbeing.
About this event
Immerse yourself in nature and rejuvenate your soul with Forest Bathing and Nature Connection Guide Emily Inge.
In the heart of Guildford, we will amble among trees and appreciate riverside views on the island at the National Trust's Dapdune Wharf, with regular stops for sensory invitations to calm body and mind. Tuning in to our senses allows us relax and reconnect with nature.
Research shows that nature connection under the canopy of trees gives us a mental and physical boost. In Japan, this is called 'Forest Bathing'.
The name 'Forest Bathing' comes from the Japanese 'Shinrin Yoku', which means 'forest shower': a sensory immersion in the forest atmosphere, (not water!). A forest bathing /nature connection event is as indulgent as a spa day, but is much more inspiring, educational, totally unique and (usually) we don't get wet! Your guide will be Emily Inge, who trained as a Forest Bathing+ guide and mindfulness teacher after experiencing first-hand the benefits of mindfulness in nature for work related stress and anxiety. Her sessions are inclusive, friendly and suitable for anyone who enjoys the outdoors.
"I have enjoyed 2 sessions of forest bathing with Emily so far. She is a very skilled, knowledgeable, passionate and empathic guide helping you to immerse yourself into the ancient woodland by getting in touch with your five senses. Emily’s sessions have been life changing for me in terms of relaxation, finding inner peace and experiencing nature in harmony with my mind, body and spirit. I can highly recommend you try it out, Emily is a fantastic guide." Ursula, London
