About this event

Experience a uniquely inspiring and meditative artistic practice where the flow of breath and rhythm of crafting reveal a path to inner peace and self-discovery.

Finding artfulness and expression within the steps and stitches of creative journeying.

Guided by talented coordinators inter-twining meditation and artistry with a freehand and open mind to find a common thread within the fabric of being, connecting our ‘self’ to one and all around.

In this engaging 2.5-hour workshop, participants will discover how the process of crafting can mirror the calming effects of deep meditation. The act of creating - whether through the repetitive motions of a project or the exploration of creative inspiration - can cultivate present awareness and mindfulness.

What to Expect

  • Mindful Crafting: Participants will learn how the ancient technique of looping can help focus the mind and settle racing thoughts. This hands-on activity encourages present awareness and prolonged focus, allowing participants to experience the meditative state that crafting can offer.
  • Guided Meditation: The workshop will include guided mindfulness exercises to help participants centre themselves before starting their projects. This will set the tone for a focused and enjoyable crafting experience, allowing for deeper engagement with the activity.
  • Nootropic Drinks: To further enhance the experience, participants can indulge in specially selected neurotropic drinks throughout the workshop. These beverages are designed to support cognitive function and promote relaxation, adding an extra layer of enjoyment and focus to the crafting process.

Participants will enjoy numerous benefits during this crafting meditation workshop, including:

  • Enhanced Focus: By keeping their hands busy, participants can settle rapid thoughts and distractions, fostering a more profound sense of concentration.
  • Mindfulness and Present Awareness: The repetitive rhythm of looping helps participants cultivate mindfulness, encouraging them to stay present and engaged in the moment.
  • Stress Relief: Engaging in a creative project can reduce stress and promote relaxation, making this workshop a perfect escape from daily pressures.

Whether you're a seasoned artisan or just dabbling, the meditative benefits of craftwork can bring peace and balance to your life contributing to a healthier and happier you. These workshops are specifically created to help those that might typically struggle with the attention required for more traditional practices to experience the significant benefits from deep meditation, teaching a convenient creative 'coping mechanic' that can be employed anywhere for fun, relaxation and crafty fidgeting.

MEDITATION PROVIDES A WAY OF LEARNING HOW TO LET GO - RELAXED AND ABSORBED IN THE ART OF CREATION, THE SELF WE’VE COMPOSED IS MINDFULLY UNWOUND.

Craftworking can be a gateway to a meditative haven, preoccupying our conscious mind enough to allow for deeper awareness and connectivity. In taking time to focus and channel our inherent, creative energy we can find a sense of calm and accomplishment, propelled toward higher functionality, productivity and well-being; elevated to states of consciousness typically associated with deep meditation.
