Description

Thank you for your interest in the University of Bristol mature students information session for people who are returning to learning. This event is for students looking to do undergraduate study who will be over the age of 21 on the start of their course.

The session will cover:

  • Information about options for people looking to return to learning
  • Information for people who are currently doing A-levels, an Access to HE Diploma, or equivalent and looking to apply to the University
  • An introduction to student finance
  • A brief overview of student life for mature students at the University of Bristol

The event programme includes:

Registration from midday.

This session will include:

  • A presentation by Lizzie Fleming, our Widening Participation and Undergraduate Recruitment Officer
  • A short presentation by a current mature student
  • An opportunity to ask questions
  • An opportunity for individual consultation
  • An optional student-led walking tour campus 45 mins. Depart approximately 1pm.

Please allow at approximately 1 hour for the presentations, the rest of the activities have flexible timing. This will be followed by a chance to ask individual questions and optional walking tour. A mature student will also be available throughout the session to share their experience and answer questions.

Want to meet someone from a specific course?

The information sessions are intended to give a general introduction to the University for mature students, so unfortunately you will not be able to visit academic departments. The University offers pre application Open Days in June and September which offer an opportunity to visit departments, attend subject specific andinformation talks (such as student finance). Please note that the optional walking tour includes some hills and steps. If you or your guests have any access requirements, please contact us beforehand to discuss any additional support we may be able to offer.

Please note that there is no free parking on site at the University of Bristol. The nearest multi-story car parks are West End Car Park, (Berkeley Place), BS8 1EH or Trenchard Street, BS1 5AN. Both are around a ten minute walk from the venue. There is also on street meter parking near the venue on Priory Road. Use Bristol City Council's car park finder for further information about car parks.

Please allow plenty of time for your journey and to find parking and walk to the University.

How to make the most of your visit:

There is no preperation required for the information session.
