Glasgow University Flow Arts Society are pleased to announce the next workshop in our shiny new series of single-prop focused workshops with highly experienced guest teachers. This workshop will focus on the art of staff and will be taught by Iain MacDonald, a professional circus performer + teacher and founder of Glasgow Fire Spinners.

This workshop will be open level though will focus on building a strong foundation of skills from which to further develop your staff spinning. For those with prior experience, Iain will help you polish your technique as well as offering progressional teaching amidst the main class structure where possible.

The central movements to be taught in this workshop will include basic spinning techniques, such as figure of 8 and hand-to-hand passes, more advanced spinning techniques, including shot-guns, tucks, reels and fountains, as well as the foundations of contact staff: hand, arm and neck rolls, traps, and an insight to 'Steves'.

Staff will be provided, so no worries if you haven't got your own yet!
