Welcome to UoM Stories: Inspirational Speaker Showcase

UoM Stories in an initiative set up by PhD students to help inspire us. It is a Ted-Talk/Humans of New York-style event aimed at infusing a story-telling culture at the University.

We have an exciting line up of speakers, who are excited to meet and share their story with you:

1. Professor Nancy Rothwell, DBE - President, UoM

2. Lemn Sissay, MBE - Chancellor, UoM

3. Leena Gade - Formula One Race Car Engineer, UoM graduate

4. Professor Vikas Shah, MBE - Top UK Entrepreneur, UoM

5. Professor Nicky Cullum, DBE - Head of Nursing, UoM

6. Dr Jack Rivers-Auty - Young Researcher and Future Leader Fellow , UoM

7. Dr Emma Ferguson-Coleman, Research Associate, UoM (will be using sign language)

The event is FREE and open to ALL PhD and Doctoral students at the University of Manchester. A full itinerary will be emailed closer to the event to everyone that has signed up. The event includes a coffee break and drinks reception with buffet to allow you to meet, share and inspire.

More importantly, what is your story? Send us a paragraph (less than 150 words) on who or what inspires you and get a chance to win £200 at the event! We will also advertise your story via social media and our university blog page, all to inspire others!
