Join sustainable designer and maker Ashley Jess Knight at a joyful, hands-on Upcycling Patch-Making Workshop at the Give Your Best Shop. An evening of creativity, community, and conscious craft, hosted during London Fashion Week as part of the BFC Culture Celebration.
In this relaxed and welcoming workshop, you’ll learn how to create your own fabric patch using recycled materials—perfect for customising clothing, tote bags, or creating an artwork.
Ashley will guide you through simple but effective upcycling techniques, including embroidery, beading, and hand-finishing, using a beautiful array of recycled fabrics, yarns, beads, and sequins—all saved from waste and chosen with care.
You'll have the chance to design your own patch from scratch and leave with your own creation & new skills.
All materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own tote bag or garment to upcycle on the night.
This workshop reflects Ashley’s core pillars of:
✨ Community – connecting through creativity and conversation
✨ Craft – embracing handwork and heritage textile skills
✨ Consciousness – using recycled and waste materials to make something new
No prior sewing or embroidery experience is necessary—this workshop is suitable for beginners as well as seasoned makers looking to unwind, get inspired, and learn new skills.
We look forward to seeing you there!
