We are delighted to host Professor Abdallah Al-Mohammad, Professor of Cardiology at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Sheffield, deliver an update in Heart failure.
Professor Al Mohammed has worked on the national clinical guidelines with NICE between 2008 and 2025. He will guide us through the September 2025 update to NICE Chronic heart failure in adults: diagnosis and management which delivered significant changes to the diagnosis and management of chronic heart failure.
Not only have all three main heart failure phenotypes (HFrEF, HFmrEF and HFpEF) now been recognised, but the September update supports clinicians to develop a more person centred approach to the treatment of all guiding healthcare professionals to take into account the degree of frailty and chronic kidney disease someone is living with.
