Cases of Scoliosis and new treatments have been appearing in the news more frequently, but have there been any major updates in this field?

Mr Jason Bernard is one of the few consultants capable of performing the Vertebral Body Tethering operation, and he will aim to answer these question and deliver an informative overview of the current practices in scoliosis treatment.

Abour Mr Jason Bernard:
MD FRCS Orth


Mr Jason Bernard is a Consultant Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon at Wimbledon Clinics. He treats a wide range of spinal diseases and back injuries, ranging from the simplest disc problems to complex cancer and scoliosis surgeries. His emphasis is always on exploring the individual’s needs and goals to ensure that orthopaedic treatment plans are personalised.

Jason Bernard additionally runs acclaimed surgical training courses for Consultants and Senior Surgical Trainees and leads the management team as the Clinical Director for Outpatient Services at St George’s Hospital. He is also responsible for Clinical Governance in the Orthopaedic Surgery department at St George’s Hospital and co-chair of the committee for implementation of NICE guidelines on Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression for St George’s Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospital.
