Updating the Jungian Animus and Anima in Cultural and Personal Dynamics
Overview
Are these classically Jungian concepts relevant today? What do they mean and how do we use them to inhabit a flexible range of personhood? These are questions and challenges for discussion. They reflect the fluidity of our world, and the possible expansion of personality, even as our borders are shrinking and countries becoming isolationistic. From the perspective of Jungian analytical psychology, culture and person mirror and affect each other. The presentation addresses how we include these elements in the therapeutic treatment, bring them to consciousness, and how they affect the relationship within and between therapist and client, conscious and unconscious.
