Event description

Description

A two day workshop with Gareth rees, one of the principal tutors of the British School of Upholstered Furniture.

Exploring spring and lashing techniques in both the British and continental manner. Students will produce a workshop quality finish on various shaped pre made practice frames.

The course will not involve the technique of tying springs down to the correct height prior to lashing, but rather focus on allowing students to understand the process used for well over 150 years in the workshop through direct lashing to the spring.

A lecture will also be given on the history and understanding of how a sprung seat works.

This is a course that has only been offerd in part to students of the schools AMUSF diploma programme

All materials are supplied for the course.

Please bring your tool kit.
