Urban Astronomy Inverness - The Moon
Date and time
A night of Moon observing and astronomy from the local Merkinch Nature Reserve.
About this event
Come along to our next session of urban astronomy at the Inverness Sea Cadet hall on Thursday 7th Nov, when we'll learn all about the Moon and how best to observe it.
If skies are clear we'll take a walk along to the Merkinch Nature Reserve, where local astronomer Stephen Mackintosh will guide you around the surface of the Moon with video telescope, with opportunities to stargaze with binoculars afterwards. In the event of poor weather Stephen will instead present an indoor talk on the Moon, it's formation, geology and how best to observe it in binoculars or telescope.
Family friendly and open to all. Binoculars provided but if you have your own please bring them along.
Booking via Eventbrite essential. Tickets are free but please consider a donation to help sustain and promote the astronomy programme.
