Learn about Newcastle’s Modernist past in this guided tour of the Central Motorway.
Inspired by the Farrell Centre’s Ideal City project, this tour looks to the 1960s and T. Dan Smith’s towering ambitions for the city and region. Photographer and Urban Explorers regular Euan Lynn explores the era’s single most transformative intervention in the city – the Central Motorway – as a route through the architectural, social and political history of Modernist Newcastle.
