Urbanistas NE #35 October 2024 meet up: silent coaching

Join us online for our October gathering for a silent coaching session hosted by Stephanie Cole, one of the Urbanistas NE co-pilots and also a coach and part of NE Coaching Collective.

Silent coaching is a short coaching session that allows groups of people to reflect on their own individual coaching question or goal, together. Our coach, Stephanie, will ask a series of questions following the OSCAR coaching model with pauses in between each question for you to write your answers (this is the silent bit).

We'll ask you to bring a real issue, question, challenge you want to change or influence or do differently (at work or at home), and something to write on - pen and paper or laptop.

It’s confidential – you won't be asked to share your issue, question or challenge - but we will have time to share your reflections on the process. What was it like? How did it feel? What was your favourite question?

We provide a platform to connect, collaborate, network, support and amplify the voices of women to create better cities and places for everyone.

The Urbanistas NE gatherings are warm and welcoming spaces to talk, share ideas, meet each other and lift each other up. We use an open, informal and collaborative structure for our gatherings to help us have enjoyable, open and participatory conversations.

• November: gathering to include conversations about Urbanistas NE purpose and our International Women's Day event in March, in person event (venue will be confirmed as soon as we can)

This year we've met on the third Thursday of most months, a mix of in person and online. Our dates this year are 18 January, 15 February, 21 March, 18 April, 16 May, 18 July, 19 September, 17 October and 21 November.

Urbanistas is a collaborative women-led network amplifying the voices of women to make cities and places better for everyone.

We are passionate about growing women’s leadership and capacity by providing a space where women can blend our personal values and professional expertise to make things happen.

Despite there being an abundance of amazing women doing great things in the north east we are still hugely underrepresented - as leaders, as innovators and as role models. So, we bring women together to share ideas and activities to bring about positive change in our cities.

You don’t have to be a working in the built environment to be an Urbanista – you just need to love cities! In fact, Urbanistas come from a diverse range of lifestyles, interests, backgrounds, professional levels and disciplines. We include place makers, geographers, social entrepreneurs, youth workers, architects, policy makers, teachers, artists, curators, community builders, economists, mental health practitioners, film makers and writers.

What makes Urbanistas different to other networks is our emphasis on collaboration and action. Bringing women together to offer a platform for sharing ideas and driving collaboration is at the core of what we do.
