US Elections Special with James Matthews, Head of Scotland at Sky News
Event Information
About this Event
CIPR Scotland will be joined by renowned Sky News journalist James Matthews who will share his insight on the race to the White House and how Joe Biden rather than Donald Trump will be occupying the Oval Office for the next four years.
There is no disputing that last year's US Presidential contest was an election like no other. And since November the controversy and bitterness of Trump V. Biden has not gone away.
Sky News Scotland Bureau Chief, James, has been integral in bringing news coverage of it all from the USA and will share his experiences with us.
He will also reflect on what lessons communicators can take from the campaign and finally give his thoughts on how politics in Scotland is shaping up for Holyrood elections later this year.
With an esteemed journalist background, James has been in the media now for over 30 years starting his career as a news and sports reporter at Metro Radio in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne before joining Independent Radio News in London. In the early nineties, he was chief reporter at Scottish Television before joining Sky News in 1995. He was part of the Sky News team that won a BAFTA for its coverage of the terrorist attack on Glasgow Airport in 2007.
This should be a very interesting event, with key learnings for us all on communicating to the masses!
