User Centred Design for Beginners

This event is primarily for beginners based in or able to travel to the North West of England

Have you ever wondered why you don’t need instructions to use popular apps and services like Uber, Spotify or Google? Or even why it’s difficult to stop using them?

Being part of an agile team involves a lot more than understanding the code. We need people who can understand and relate to end-users to figure out what is the easiest way for them to use it. All of this needs to be done before a single line of code is written.

If you have ever had to plan a journey or figure out how someone will use something you’ve created then you’ll definitely have a lot of the skills needed to work in a digital team.

About the session

In this workshop, you’ll get an overview of User-Centred Design, find out about the kinds of people who go into the field and try some tools and techniques used by professionals.

Our Taster workshops are interactive, hands-on sessions that give our participants the opportunity to try out roles in a supportive and welcoming environment. You don't have to have any prior experience or even know what the role is. Come with your enthusiasm and an open mind.

We particularly welcome people from groups that are under-represented within the industry and based in the North West of England as any future physical events will take place at our home in Manchester.
