User Research Taster Session for Beginners

This event is primarily for beginners based in or able to travel to the North West of England

So, what does a User Researcher actually do?

"Among other things, it takes curiosity, discipline and practice to become a good user researcher. You have to be interested in people and how they behave. Why did someone do that? Why are they clicking there? What is going through their mind and what is motivating them? You need to be curious about those questions." Ollie Francis

This role is crucial to the success of any new service. The User Researcher works with the users of a service -- this can be customers, colleagues, members etc., asking open-ended questions to uncover needs, behaviours and motivations. This information is then used by the team to ensure that whatever is being created fits the users' needs.

Through a mixture of exercises and group work, led by a professional, you will learn and about and experience part of how User Researchers work. You don't need any prior experience, just a pen, some paper and an open mind.
