Event description

Description

Ushaw College is one of County Durham's hidden gems. It's a treasure chest of art and architecture. A photographer's paradise.

Join us for a rare opportunity to have an after-hours photography 'lock-in', with full tutorial support and access to many of the interesting spaces in the main building. Numbers are restricted to 24 photographers, and movement will be controlled so that you get all the clear shots you need.

In addition to all of the usual rooms and spaces and ground level, we will have access to the old dormitories on the top floor.

Tripods will be permitted as will whatever artificial lighting you need, as long as it doesn't get in the way of other people's shots for longer than necessary.

Once the tickets have gone, that's it. I can't create any more places, because part of the benefit of such a small group is the ability to make sure people aren't wandering into your shots all the time :)

I'll have two or more experienced photographers (people whose work you'll probably know from Facebook and Flickr) helping out, and I'll be providing tuition and one-to-one support.

A significant amount of the cost of this workshop will go towards hiring the building, paying trainers, promoting the event, and processing the tickets, so I'd appreciate it if you could book and pay as early as possible. For similar reasons, your booking is non-refundable if you're unable to come (but it may possible to transfer it to someone else, upon request).

Finally, Ushaw College will require you to sign a slip of paper on the night, to confirm that you will only use the photographs for non-commercial use.

This is going to be one fantastic event. I hope to see you there.
