Event description
Speaker: John Gould, Process Safety Management & Loss Prevention Lecturer, Sheffield University

About this Event

John Gould has many years of experience of identifying potential major accident scenarios in the gas industry including off-shore rigs for firms such as Centrica. He was also a Specialist HSE Inspector (1994 to 2001). He will look at a range of methodologies to help employers prevent major accidents including risk screening, frequency analysis, consequence analysis, risk evaluation, decision making and human factors and he will illustrate these with case studies.

Members are encouraged to take part in an interactive discussion with speakers during the meeting and to network with other members over tea or coffee and mince pies after the meeting.

This meeting provides an opportunity to gain experience for your CPD and IPD records and to network with IOSH members from other work environments.

Any IOSH member is always welcome to attend our meetings.

There is ample parking on site.

The hotel is a five minute walk from Grange-over-Sands railway station. The railway line connects with the west coast main line at Carnforth and Lancaster.

The 6X bus route between Kendal, Ulverston and Barrow-in-Furness stops at Grange-over-Sands station.
