-------------------------------------

This webinar will explore opportunities to better understand the operational performance of road networks using connected vehicle data, and how this understanding can support the development of more effective interventions and adaptation strategies.

Participants will be introduced to connected vehicle data and given a brief overview of some recent applications. The key challenges facing road network authorities will then be considered, followed by a presentation on ongoing research to assess the impacts of a severe storm event on the Scottish road network using connected vehicle data. This applied collaborative research builds on the workshop, findings, and stakeholder engagement following the publication of the Vulnerability of the Scottish Road Network to Flooding Report in 2024

Speakers:

  • Dr Neil Ferguson- Senior Lecturer, Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Strathclyde
  • David Lilo-Trynes – Head of Partners and Community, Compass IoT
  • Joyce Dalgleish - Data Innovation and Change Lead, Scottish Government
