Event Details

An evening of sharing, learning and discussion for those working in charity digital. Speakers from three charities will be sharing their experiences of recent work on campaigns and tools designed to promote participation and encourage engagement.

On the night

There'll be three talks each lasting about 15 mins. After each speaker there'll be a chance for questions and discussion. Drinks and treats will be provided throughout the evening and there'll be plenty of opportunity for some more informal chat at the end.

Taking to the studio floor are:

Mark Fox

Senior Events Manager, Diabetes UK

Swim22 is a four month sports challenge which asks participants to swim 22 miles - the length of the English channel - to raise funds for Diabetes UK. Keeping participants engaged and motivated over such a long period is a significant challenge. Mark will share the charity's responses to that challenge and how they succeeded in surpassing fundraising targets.

Richard Williams

Head of Digital and ICT, Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research

CiviCRM is an open-source, web based CRM for non-profits and other civic sector organisations. Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research- the leading UK blood cancer charity - have built a module for CiviCRM which allows the creation of an online fundraising platform - and they've open sourced it. Richard will be talking about how they built the module and how other charities can use it.

Nila Patel

Webmaster, Victim Support

For children and young people witnessing a crime and then giving evidence in court can be an incredibly difficult experience. Victim Support - the independent charity for victims of crime in England and Wales - have recently set live an interactive courtroom through their youth support programme, You & Co. This online space allows young people to explore what happens in a courtroom and prepares them for the experience. Nila will be talking about the far reaching benefits of the tool and how they built it.

If you work in the third sector we'd love to see you here - but please do book soon as places are limited.
