Evidence-informed Support Services in Higher Education

This is the final event in a series of free in-person seminars focused around Student Wellbeing, funded by the BPS Research Seminar Series. Within this seminar we will explore how psychology academic teams can work effectively with central university support services to develop evidence-based approaches, and to use the evidence-base to effectively work in partnership to support our students.

In the morning staff from Psychology, the Charlie Waller Institute and the Disability Advisory Service at the University of Reading will deliver exciting talks and vibrant panel discussions. The first set of talks will focus upon research conducted in partnership between academics and university support services, with a further set of talks focused more on practice, giving examples of effective partnership-working.

In the afternoon there will be an interactive workshop which will enable delegates to consider how such approaches could be implemented in their own contexts, and explore potential collaborations across institutions to build the evidence-base further.

The seminar is free to attend and open to academic staff interested in the links between research and practice in student wellbeing.
