Have you ever wondered how personal experience of mental health challenges, as a service user or carer, can help to support others?
The session is for people who want to understand how personal lived experience of mental health difficulties or how caring for someone with mental health difficulties can support people in their recovery in either a voluntary, paid or informal role. It will offer an insight to the knowledge, skills and experience required to share lived experience.
We’ll explore how sharing lived experience can offer hope, build connections, and improve recovery. No matter your background or experience, sharing your lived experience can make a difference.
This is a standalone course and provides information on how to take the first steps to train as a Lived Experience Volunteer or a Peer Support Worker.
Students will be sent the link to this Microsoft Teams course via email prior to the session taking place. Please contact recovery.college@nhft.nhs.uk with any questions.
