Description

Many children and young people will require additional support at some time in their life at school and beyond. This course will help you support those who are struggling to develop appropriate social and emotional skills, such as those needed to manage strong emotions.

These emotions, such as anger, anxiety or stress can overwhelm us and prevent learning. Some children and young people may be lacking in confidence, resilience or need to develop the social skills required to the build positive and trusting relationships necessary for learning, for wellbeing and for life.

It will provide participants with:

  • A structure for planning and preparation of the group work sessions
  • Suggestions for effective delivery
  • Suggestions for activities, materials and resources
  • Alternative assessment based tools to the ‘box all profile’
  • Alternative assessment based tools to the ‘box all profile’.
