This webinar will present information designed to help all those working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Units and Services improve the care which they offer to young people and their families.

Findings from recent research led by the University of Nottingham have been used to develop the “Far Away from Home” checklist. This provides clinicians, referrers and service leads and managers with a clear list of considerations for when young people are admitted more than 50 miles from their home address or out-of-region.

The “Knowing Where you are Going” guidance was developed in co-production with experts by experience. It aims to standardise and improve the information available online before an admission. The resource is freely available for download and designed to help units ensure that their website displays the information which young people and parents/carers have told us that they would like to be able to access.
